Harriet Harris and Randy Harrison to Headline Guthrie’s Glass Menagerie

Tony Award winner Harriet Harris and Randy Harrison will headline the Guthrie Theater’s revival of Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie, January 20-March 25. The production, to be directed by Joe Dowling, will open officially on January 26.

In addition to Harris, who will play Amanda Wingfield, and Harrison, who will play her son Tom as a young man, the cast includes Jonas Goslow as the Gentleman Caller, Tracey Moloney as Laura, and Bill McCallum as the older Tom Wingfield who narrates the play. No information on the design time is currently available. Dowling has been the theater’s artistic director since 1995.

Harris received the Tony for Thoroughly Modern Millie and the 2006 L.A. Ovation Award for On the Town. Her many other stage credits include The Man Who Came to Dinner, Tartuffe, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Jeffrey. Harris is known to television viewers for her roles as Bebe Glazer on Frazier and Felicia Tilman on Desperate Housewives.

Harrison appeared on Broadway in Wicked. His other stage credits include Amadeus, Equus, and A Letter from Ethel Kennedy. He is best known for his role as Justin Taylor on Queer as Folk.
