Full casting has been announced for Jessica Hagedorn’s Dogeaters at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles, which will run January 14-February 11. Directed by Jon Lawrence Rivera, the show will open officially on January 21.

Based on Hagedorn’s best-selling 1990 novel of the same name, the story centers on the way the assassination of a senator in the Philippines affects the lives of everyone from politicians to hustlers, beauty queens to political radicals.

Dogeaters was originally presented by SIPA and TDRZ Productions, Inc., in association with Playwrights’ Arena in the fall of 2004. Center Theatre Group is presenting this production in association with Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA).

The cast will include Robert Almodovar, Gino Aquino, Christine Avila, Esperanza Catubig, Fran de Leon, Liza Del Mundo, Ramón de Ocampo, Antoine Reynaldo Diel, Golda Inquito, Alberto Issac, Kennedy Kabasares, Dom Magwili, Ivan Davila, Natsuko Ohama, Giovanni Ortega, Elizabeth Pan, Orlando Pabotoy, Ed Ramolete, Nick Salamone and Minerva Vier. All but de Ocampo, Isaac, and Pabotoy were in the 2004 production.
