Side By Side By Side By Side By Side by Stephen Sondheim, this year’s Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event (S.T.A.G.E.), will be presented on March 10 and 11 at 3pm at the Wilshire Theatre in Beverly Hills. David Galligan will direct, and Gerald Sternbach will serve as musical director.

Already scheduled to appear in the concert are the Cassidy brothers: Shaun, David, and Patrick, and musical theater legend Shirley Jones, the mother of Shaun and Patrick and stepmother of David. Further casting will be announced soon.

Sondheim is the winner of eight Tony Awards for such musicals as A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Follies, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, Passion, and Into the Woods, as well as a Pulitzer Prize for Sunday In the Park With George. Among the other shows for which he wrote both music and lyrics are Merrily We Roll Along, Frogs, Bounce, and Pacific Overtures; he also wrote the lyrics for West Side Story, Gypsy, and Do I Hear A Waltz? Songs from many of these shows will be performed in the S.T.A.G.E concert.
