Ben Chaplin will play the late BBC correspondent James Mossman in Nicholas Wright’s new play The Reporter, which begins performances on February 14 at London’s National Theatre. The production will be directed by Sir Richard Eyre.

The show’s creative team includes Rob Howell (set and costume design), Peter Mumford (lighting design), Rich Walsh (sound design), and Jon Driscoll (video design). Eyre is currently represented on Broadway as co-director of Mary Poppins and his new film Notes on a Scandal, starring Dame Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett, opens today.

The cast also includes Bruce Alexander, Leo Bill, Patrick Brennan, John Cummins, Aleksander Mikic, Chris New, Angelo Paragoso, Gillian Raine, Paul Ritter, Angela Thorne, and Tilly Tremayne.

Chaplin starred on Broadway in The Retreat from Moscow, which earned him a Tony Award nomination as Best Featured Actor. His many film credits include The Remains of the Day, The Truth About Cats and Dogs, and Stage Beauty. He is scheduled to be seen on screen next year in The Waterhorse.
