Patti LuPone will record The Lady With the Torch, based on her recent one-woman show, this month for Ghostlight Records. The CD is expected to be released in April.

LuPone performed the show in March at Carnegie Hall; it was developed through cabaret engagements at Feinstein’s at the Regency, the Plush Room, and the Cinegrill. The orchestrations are by Jonathan Tunick.

LuPone is currently starring in the critically acclaimed revival of Sweeney Todd. She received a Tony Award for the musical Evita and received nominations for the musicals Anything Goes and The Robber Bridegroom. Her previous solo CDs include Matters of the Heart and Patti LuPone Live!. She can be also heard on numerous cast albums, including the London productions of Sunset Boulevard and Les Miserables.
