Joanne Camp Will Star in Pearl’s Hecuba

Joanne Camp will star in the Pearl Theatre Company’s production of Euripides’ anti-war drama Hecuba, January 5-February 12. The play will be performed in a new translation by Janet Lembke and Kenneth J. Reckford and will be directed by Shepard Sobel, the Pearl’s founder and artistic director.

In addition to Camp, the cast includes Rachel Botchan, Dominic Cuskern, Carol Schultz, Vinie Burrows, Mel England, Rocelyn Halili, Kelli Holsopple, Susan Hunt, Carolyn Ratteray, John Livingstone Rolle, and Bashir Solebo. The show’s creative team includes Susan Zeeman Rogers (set design), Devon Painter (costume design), Stephen Petrilli (lighting design), and Jane Shaw (sound design and original music).

Camp received a Tony nomination for The Heidi Chronicles and has also been seen on Broadway in Dinner at Eight, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, and The Sisters Rosensweig. She won an Obie Award for her work with the Pearl, the Callaway Award for her performance in the company’s The Imaginary Invalid, and the Clarence Derwent and Theater World Awards for her performance in Geniuses.
