Jessica Hecht, Remy Auberjonois, Reg Rogers, Jenn Harris, and Conor Donovan will star in a free reading of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s The Velvet Sky at 7pm on Monday, December 19 at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street). The reading will be directed by Trip Cullman.

The play concerns a woman whose husband steals their son in the middle of the night, causing her already fragile grip on reality to weaken. Aguirre-Sacasa is the author of The Mystery Plays and Golden Age. His play Based on a Totally True Story will be presented by Manhattan Theatre Club this spring. Cullman is the director of Dog Sees God and the upcoming MCC production of The Wooden Breeks; his previous work includes Manic Flight Reaction and Swimming in the Shallows.

Hecht was most recently seen on Broadway in Julius Caesar. Auberjonois starred this fall in The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow. Rogers recently starred in Bach at Leipzig. Harris has been seen in Ashley Montana in the Caicos and Modern Orthodox. Donovan starred in the Second Stage production of Privilege.

Reservations are required to attend the reading; phone 212-977-1700.
