Cox, Reeder, Rothenberg, Smith to Headline MCC’s The Wooden Breeks

Veanne Cox, Ana Reeder, Adam Rothenberg, and T. Ryder Smith head the cast of MCC Theater’s upcoming production of Glen Berger’s The Wooden Breeks, scheduled to run February 2-March 11 at the Lucille Lortel Theater.

The play is set in the mythical land of Brood, full of dreamers, schemers, and various sets of would-be-lovers. It will be directed by Trip Cullman, who is currently represented by the Off-Broadway production of Dog Sees God. The cast also includes Louis Cancelmi, Ron Cephas Jones, Maria Dizzia, Jamie Dornan, and Stephen Mellor.

Cox was most recently seen Off-Broadway in A Mother, A Daughter, and A Gun. She starred in MCC’s production of Last Easter, for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination. Her Broadway credits include Caroline, or Change, The Dinner Party, and Company, for which she received a Tony nomination.

Reeder won an Obie Award for her performance in Small Tragedy and was recently seen in the Huntington Theatre Company’s production of Carol Mulroney. Rothenberg co-starred in Danny and the Deep Blue Sea at Second Stage and in A Streetcar Named Desire at the Kennedy Center. Smith may currently be seen Off-Broadway in Apparition.

Berger is also the author of Underneath the Lintel, which will be presented next month at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, New Jersey, with Richard Schiff starring.
