Znidarsic to Present Free Holiday Songbook Event at Donnell Library Theater

John Znidarsic will present the 2004 edition of the annual Holiday Songbook at the Donnell Library Theater (20 West 53rd Street) on Sunday, December 12 at 2:30pm. The event will include a concert of new holiday songs performed by such singers as Bill Bateman, Anne Bobby, Geno Carr, Gaelen Gilliland, and Audrey Lavine.

The centerpiece of this year’s Songbook will be a reading of The Twelve Days of Christmas, a new musical revue conceived and directed by Michael Scheman, with musical direction by Barbara Anselmi. Originally developed in the Lehman Engel BMI Musical Theatre Workshop, the revue turns the classic carol into a one set, small cast, low budget, family-friendly show. It includes material by Barbara Anselmi, Neil Bartram, Gilles Chiasson, D.D. Jackson, Carl Kissin, Karl Mansfield, Peter Morris, Benjamin Morss, Michael Scheman, Madeline Stone, David Turner, and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

The event is free and open to the public but ticket availability is limited; admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event at the door. Phone 212-265-3495, ext. 218 for more information.
