The first Broadway revival of the Stephen Sondheim-John Weidman-Hugh Wheeler musical Pacific Overtures opened at Studio 54 last night, presented by the Roundabout Theatre Company. Here’s Sondheim, the master himself, pictured after the show.
Here are shots of three of the stars of Pacific Overtures: B.D. Wong, who has the role of the Reciter…
…Daniel Jay Park, who plays the French Admiral, a Kanagawa girl, and a priest …
…and Sab Shimono, who plays Lord Abe.
A number of celebs attended the Pacific Overtures opening. Among them: stage and TV star Cynthia Nixon…
…the ever-lovely Hayley Mills…
…and the husband-and-wife acting pair of Daniel Gerroll and Patrica Kalember…
People are still talking about Monday night’s starry concert performance of the Stephen Schwartz-Roger O. Hirson musical Pippin, held at the Manhattan Center to benefit the National AIDS Fund. To go along with TheaterMania’s photo feature on the concert itself (click here for access), we now present some shots of the stars from the after-party at Bennigan’s on Eighth Avenue at 47th Street. First, here’s Julia Murney (Fastrada) with Michael Arden (Pippin).
Rosie O’Donnell (center), one of the concert’s Leading Players, is pictured with partner Kelli Carpenter (right) and Julie Garnye, a member of the Pippin ensemble.
Here’s Kate Shindle, co-producer of the concert and another of its Leading Players, with ensemble member Harris Doran.
We leave you with a photo of this gorgeous Pippin trio: Cameron Mathison (Lewis), John Tartaglia (Head and other roles), and Charles Busch (Berthe).
