The Roundabout's initial plans to present Assassins on Broadway were scuttled following the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. The show, which explores patriotism as seen through the eyes of assassins and attempted assassins of a number of U.S. Presidents, was originally produced Off-Broadway by Playwrights Horizons in 1990.
