Off-Broadway’s Burn This to Close Earlier Than Announced

The Signature Theatre Company’s revival of Lanford Wilson’s Burn This will end its run at the Union Square Theatre on Sunday, December 29 — not on Sunday, January 5, as had been previously announced.

Currently starring Elisabeth Shue, Peter Sarsgaard, Dallas Roberts, and Ty Burrell, the play concerns the effect of a young dancer’s accidental death on his roommates and on his volatile brother. The production began preview performances on August 27 and officially opened on September 19 with Catherine Keener and Edward Norton in the roles now being played by Shue and Sarsgaard. Burn This was directed by Signature’s founding artistic director, James Houghton. At the time of its closing, the show will have played 26 previews and 109 regular performances.
