Drama Dept. will celebrate the season with a holiday spectacular on Monday, December 16 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, 121 Christopher Street.

Artistic director Douglas Carter Beane, author of As Bees In Honey Drown, will host the event, which will pay homage to the old Joan Crawford Christmas specials where one fabulous celebrity after another “dropped in” to visit the star in her living room. Beane’s guests will include talk show host Caroline Rhea; fashion designer-turned-cabaret star Isaac Mizrahi; Hairspray‘s hilarious Jackie Hoffman; Broadway singers Judy Kuhn, Marc Kudisch, and Mary Beth Peil; and actors Dylan Baker, Robert Ari, Mary Birdsong, and Patrick Breen. Jono Mainelli will serve as musical director for the evening.

Drama Dept.’s next production will be Charles Busch’s Shanghai Moon, starring Busch, B.D. Wong, Daniel Gerroll and Becky Ann Baker. That show will run January 3 through February 9 at the company’s home, the Greenwich House Theater, located at 27 Barrow St.

Tickets to the Drama Dept. Holiday Spectacular are $35; a $75 ticket includes admission to a post-show party in Beane’s living room. Call 212-633-9632 for information. For more on the company, visit the website www.dramadept.org.
