Paul Nolan, who was last seen on Broadway in the superstar title role in the recent revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, will fall slowly into the cast of Once beginning Tuesday, December 17.

Nolan is set to take on the role of the guitar-strumming, broken-hearted “Guy,” which is currently played by Dr. Who favorite Arthur Darvill. Darvill will exit the production December 15.

The musical features a book by award-winning Irish playwright and screenwriter Enda Walsh, Academy Award-winning music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, direction by the John Tiffany (The Glass Menagerie), movement by Steven Hoggett (What's It All About? Bacharach Reimagined ) and music supervision and orchestrations by Martin Lowe.

Once runs at Broadway’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
