Composer/writer Dave Malloy will host a special event celebrating the release of the new Ghostlight Records cast recording of off-Broadway's Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 on December 10 at the Upper East Side Barnes & Noble. The event will begin at 5pm.

Director Rachel Chavkin and members of the original cast will be on hand for the celebration, which will include a special in-store performance and CD signing. The album was released by digital outlets on October 29, and the deluxe two-CD set will be in stores on December 10.

Based on characters from Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace, Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 is an electro-pop opera that tells the story of Natasha Rostova, who arrives in Moscow to await the return of her fiancé from the front lines. When she falls under the spell of the city's most charming rogue, it is up to the disillusioned Pierre to pick up the pieces of her reputation.
