Disney Theatrical Productions has announced plans for a 2014-2015 Newsies North American tour. The tour will kick off in October 2014 in Schenectady, New York, prior to an official opening in Philadelphia.

The 43-week, 25-city event will stop in Chicago; Columbus, Ohio; Houston; Los Angeles; Louisville, Kentucky; Nashville, Tennessee; Orlando, Florida; Philadelphia; San Francisco; Toronto; and many more. Additional cities will be announced at a later date.

Newsies won Tony Awards for Best Original Score Written for the Theatre and Best Choreography. It features music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by Harvey Fierstein. The musical is inspired by the cult-classic 1992 film of the same name and tells the story of a group of tenacious newsboys at the turn of the last century who band together to form a union and lead a strike after selling prices are raised.
