The Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, originally scheduled to begin previews on January 21 and open on February 21, will now begin previews on January 24 in advance of a February 24 opening at the Broadway Theatre. The changes are due to postponed rehearsals because of Hurricane Sandy.

The musical features a new book by Douglas Carter Beane and direction by Mark Brokaw.

Tony Award-nominee Laura Osnes leads the company in the title role, with Drama Desk winner Santino Fontana as her Prince Topher. The ensemble also includes Tony-winners Victoria Clark (fairy godmother Marie) and Harriet Harris (Madame, Cinderella’s stepmother), Peter Bartlett (Sebastian, Prince Topher’s mentor and Lord Chancellor), Ann Harada and Marla Mindelle (as the stepsisters), and Greg Hildreth (Jean-Michel). Additional casting will be announced in the future.

The production will feature choreography by Josh Rhodes; music adaptation, supervision, and arrangements by David Chase; musical direction by Andy Aeinhorn; scenic design by Anna Louizos; costume design by William Ivey Long; lighting design by Ken Posner; and sound design by Nevin Steinberg. Robyn Goodman, Stephen Kocis, Jill Furman, and Center Theatre Group serve as producers.
