Rita Gardner, Lauren Worsham et al. Set for Joseph Thalken & Friends

Sam Davis and Peter Foley will be featured composers in Joseph Thalken & Friends, the first of this season’s two-part contemporary music mini-series NYFOS Next The event, presented by the New York Festival of Song, will be held at Mary Flager Cary Hall in the DiMenna Center for Classical Music on November 8, 2011.

Thalken will host the evening and curates an hour of new theater music which will showcase the songs of Davis and Foley, as well as his own selections. All three composers will play their own songs from the piano. Additional performers include sopranos Rita Gardner, Lauren Worsham and Marcy Richardson; Miles Mykkanen, tenor; and Jonathan Estabrooks, baritone.

Both Peter Foley and Sam Davis were jointly Jonathan Larsen grant recipients in 1999. Thalken and Foley both recently received significant grants from the Signature Theatre to develop new work.
