Rachel Weisz Joins Railway Man Film

Olivier Award and Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz has joined the cast of Jonathan Teplitzky’s film Railway Man, as Patricia ‘Pattie’ Wallace, according to Variety.


The film tells the story of Eric Lomax, a second Lieutenant in the Royal Corp of Signals who was captured in 1942 by the Japanese army in Singapore. Colin Firth and Jeremy Irvine will play the older and younger Lomax, respectively..


Weisz won an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Blanche DuBois in the West End production of A Streetcar Named Desire and appeared Off-Broadway in The Shape of Things.


She won the Academy Award for The Constant Gardener. Her upcoming films include 360 and The Deep Blue Sea.
