Melissa Manchester Joins Encompass New Opera Theatre’s Marvin Hamlisch Celebration

Melissa Manchester has joined the line-up for Encompass New Opera Theatre’s celebration of Oscar winner and Tony Award winner Marvin Hamlisch during the organization’s annual gala, to be held at the National Arts Club on Sunday, November 20.

She will join the previously reported Lucie Arnaz, Klea Blackhurst, Craig Carnelia, Brian d’Arcy James, Kevin Earley, Lesley Gore, Emma Hunton, Capathia Jenkins, and Karen Ziemba in performing songs from the Hamlisch songbook. In addition, Craig Carnelia, Sheldon Harnick, Baayork Lee and Donald Pippin will provide recollections of Hamlisch’s work.

Hamlisch’s Broadway credits include A Chorus Line, They’re Playing Our Song, Seesaw, Sweet Smell of Success, and The Goodbye Girl. He received Oscars for his work on The Way We Were and The Sting.
