Lar Lubovitch Dance Company will present the world premiere of Lubovitch’s latest dance, Crisis Variations, at Baryshnikov Arts Center/BAC, November 9 to 20.

The new work — described as an “action painting” by the choreographer — is set to a commissioned score by composer Yevgeniy Sharlat, which will be performed live by Ransom Wilson’s the ensemble Le Train Bleu and conducted by Ransom Wilson.


The two-week engagement also includes an encore presentation of last year’s BAC
premiere, The Legend of Ten, along with two of Lubovitch’s masterworks: Dvorak Serenade and Men’s Stories.

The company’s 16 dancers are: Jonathan E. Alsberry, Reid Bartelme, Clifton Brown, Elisa Clark, Nicole Corea, Attila Joey Csiki, Leigh Lijoi, Ashley Lindsey, Carlos Lopez, Reed Luplau, Nathan Madden, Jason McDole, Brian McGinnis, Milan Misko, Laura Rutledge, and Katarzyna Skarpetowska.

Serenade is by Jack Mehler. The original lighting design for Men’s Stories is by Clifton Taylor.

Audience members are invited to free “Meet the Artist” talks following the performances on Wednesday, November 16 and Thursday, November 17.
