Bill T. Jones: A Good Man to Receive New York Premiere November 5; DVD Release Set for November 11

The documentary Bill T. Jones: A Good Man will have its New York Theatrical premiere with a screening at IFC Center as part of the DOC NYC film festival on November 5. In addition, Kartemquin Films will release the film on DVD on November 11, the same day the film will be aired, as previously announced, as part of PBS Arts Fall Festival.


Co-directed by Bob Hercules and Gordon Quinn, the documentary, shot over the course of two years, reveals Jones’ demanding creative process for two the dance piece Fondly Do We Hope…Fervently Do We Pray — an original dance-theater creation in honor of Abraham Lincoln’s bicentennial.

Jones has won Tony Awards for his choreography for Fela! and Spring Awakening. He is also the artistic director of Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company.
