Ron Lucas, Melba Moore to Co-Host Audelco Awards

Ron Lucas and Melba Moore will co-host the 2010 Audelco Awards, honoring excellence in Black Theatre, to be held at Harlem Stage/Aaron Davis Hall, Inc.’s Marian Anderson Theatre (133rd Street and Convent Avenue), on Monday, November 15, beginning at 7:30pm.

The theme of this year’s 38th annual awards is “We Are Family.” Honorary co-chairs include Brenda Braxton, Stephen C. Byrd and Mical Whitaker. A gala reception will immediately follow the ceremony.

As previously reported, the new musical The Scottsboro Boys, currently performing at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre, received four nominations for its Vineyard Theatre staging. Among the many performers nominated for this year’s awards are Daniel Beaty, Brandon Victor Dixon, Anna Deavere Smith, John Douglas Thompson, and Charlayne Woodard.
