Michael Urie and Adam Driver to Join Signature’s Angels in America Revival; Show Extends Through March 27

The Signature Theatre Company’s revival of Tony Kushner’s Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes has now extended until March 27. The production is directed by Michael Greif.

As of February 2, the cast will include Adam Driver as Louis Ironson, Lynne McCollough as Hannah Pitt, Michael Urie as Prior Walter, Bill Heck as Joe Pitt, Billy Porter as Belize, and Frank Wood as Roy Cohn, with additional casting to be announced.

The production currently stars Robin Bartlett as Hannah Pitt, Christian Borle as Prior Walter, Bill Heck as Joe Pitt, Zoe Kazan as Harper Pitt, Billy Porter as Belize, Zachary Quinto as Louis Ironson, Robin Weigert as The Angel, and Frank Wood as Roy Cohn.

Kushner’s play is set in America in the 1980s against a backdrop of greed, conservatism, sexual politics, and the discovery of AIDS. Both parts of the play, Millennium Approaches and Perestroika, alternate in repertory.

The production features scenic design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Ken Travis, projection design by Wendall K. Harrington, original music by Michael Friedman, and fight direction by Rick Sordelet.
