Magician Charles Reynolds Dies at 78

Charles Reynolds, who served as magic consultant on numerous Broadway shows, died from complications due to liver cancer at his home in Manhattan on Thursday, November 4, according to The New York Times. He was 78.

Reynolds received a Drama Desk nomination for his special effects for the 1983 Broadway musical Merlin, and also worked on the Broadway shows Big (1996), Into the Woods (1987), Sleight of Hand (1987), Doug Henning & His World of Magic (1984), The Stitch in Time (1981, closed in previews), and Blackstone! (1980). He also worked extensively in television, as producer, director, or creator/consultant of magic effects.

Reynolds is survived by his wife, Regina.
