Justin Burford, Amy Lehpamer to Star in Australian Production of Rock of Ages

Justin Burford and Amy Lehpamer will star as Drew and Sherrie in the Australian production of the musical Rock of Ages, which will open at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday, April 9, 2011.

Rock of Ages focuses on a young rocker hungry for his big break and a small town girl who meet in 1987 at a legendary Hollywood club facing its imminent demise. The score includes the hit songs of iconic rockers like REO Speedwagon, Journey, Styx, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, Whitesnake, and many more. The musical’s book is written by Chris D’Arenzio. Kristin Hanggi has directed the production, which features choreography by Kelly Devine.

Burford, who will be making his stage debut, is the lead singer, guitarist and principal song-writer for the rock band End of Fashion. Lehpamer’s theatre credits include The Threepenny Opera, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Follies.

The Melbourne cast will also feature Rachel Bickerton, Francine Cain, Brendan Coustley, Rachel Dunham, Alexander Ellis, Michael Falzon, Samantha Hagen, Lincoln Hall, Anthony Harkin, Melanie Hawkins, Brent Hill, Shaye Hopkins, John O’Hara, Jensen Overend, Thern Reynolds, Ellen Sutton, and David Whitney.

The Broadway production of Rock of Ages continues at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
