Two-time Emmy Award winner Nikkieli DeMone will appear in Black Nativity Now, to run December 3-January 2 at the Theatre at St. Clement’s. Alfred Preisser will direct the production, which will feature an original score and musical direction by Kelvyn Bell and choreography by Tracy Jack.

DeMone, who is also an ordained Bishop, has appeared on stage in Miss Saigon, Rent, Ragtime, Jesus Christ Superstar, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Once On This Island, Crowns, The Best Of Both Worlds, Memphis Soul, and Sideshow, among others. His television credits include his Emmy Award-winning turns in Bad Street and The Eyes of God, as well as The Women Of Brewster Place.

Black Nativity Now is a holiday gospel pageant set inside a fabulous show-biz church in the midst of the famed and scabrous landscape of Times Square, as the show tells the story of the birth of Christ. The piece is presided over by a pastor heavily influenced by the likes of James Brown and supported by a choir of singers and dancers who perform musical sets infused with gospel, pop, funk, and soul.
