Elling, which had been scheduled to run until March 20 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, will now close on Sunday, November 28 after a run of nine performances and 22 previews, according to The New York Times.

The play, written by Axel Hellstenius and Peter Naess and translated by Simon Bent, is based on Ingvar Ambjornsen’s Norwegian novels and Naess’ 2001 film version of them. It focuses on a pair of mismatched friends as they take their first steps in the world after years of living in an institution.

The show is directed by Doug Hughes and stars Brendan Fraser, Denis O’Hare, Jennifer Coolidge, Jeremy Shamos, and Richard Easton.

The creative team includes Scott Pask (scenic design), Kenneth Posner (lighting design), Catherine Zuber (costume design) and David Van Tieghem (original music and sound design).
