Carlo Alban, Tina Chilip, and Obie Award winner Ching Valdes-Aran will star in a revival of Ralph B. Pena’s Flipzoids, to be presented Off-Broadway by the Ma-Yi Theater Company at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, January 11-February 6, with an opening on January 18. Loy Arcenas will direct.

In the play, a 70-year-old woman — a recent immigrant from the Philippines — crosses paths with a young Filipino man on a deserted beach in Southern California. Far from their native land, a cautious friendship ensues as they attempt to reconcile their very different understandings of their old home, and try to fit in to their new one.

The production will feature lighting design by James Vermeulen, sound design by Fabian Obispo, and scenic design by Arcenas.

Valdes-Aran previously starred in the 1996 world premiere of the play at Theater for a New City.
