Brian Stokes Mitchell to Narrate How The Grinch Stole Christmas! at Carnegie Hall

Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell will narrate The New York Pops’ concert adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas!, to be presented at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, December 11 at 2pm.

The program will feature Mitchell Kilby as The Grinch, Elena Zahlmann as Max the Dog, and Izzy Hanson-Johnston as Cindy Lou Who. In addition, Essential Voices USA under the direction of Judith Clurman, children from New York Theatre Ballet and singers and dancers of Camp Broadway Chorus will also perform in this family concert.

As previously reported, Mitchell will also join the Pops for a program of holiday favorites in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, to be held on December 10 and 11 at 8pm. Music director Steven Reineke will conduct.

In related news, WFUV’s Live at Zankel series will continue with singer/songwriter Martin Sexton performing a solo show of favorites (December 11 at 10pm), and the New York String Orchestra will return to Carnegie Hall for for two concerts in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage conducted by Artistic Director Jaime Laredo on December 24 at 7pm and December 28 at 8pm.
