Writer Ron Sproat Dies at 77
Ron Sproat, a writer for television and the stage, has died according to a report in Variety. He was 77.
Sproat wrote the librettos for Back Home, seen at NYMF in 2007, as well as Abie's Island Rose and Ravenswood. His works were performed at the Paper Mill Playhouse, The York Theatre, and Musical Mondays Theatre Lab.
He also wrote for such TV series as Dark Shadows, Love of Life and The Secret Storm, as well as the anthology series United States Steel Hour and General Motors Presents.
