Christine Lahti, Annie Potts, Jimmy Smits, and Ken Stott had their first performance in Broadway’s God of Carnage, at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Tuesday, November 17. The play, directed by Tony winner Matthew Warchus, is about two sets of parents who confront each other after their sons’ engage in a schoolyard dispute.

Lahti, who plays Veronica, won an Oscar, appeared on Broadway in The Heidi Chronicles. She won the Academy Award for directing her short film Lieberman in Love and Emmy Award for her portrayal of Dr. Kathryn Austin on Chicago Hope. Potts, who is making her Broadway debut as Annette, is best known for her role as Mary Jo Shively in the television series Designing Women.

Smits, who plays Alan, appeared on Broadway in Anna in the Tropics. He received six Emmy nominations for his role of Victor Sifuentes on L.A. Law, winning in 1990, and five Emmy nominations for his role as Bobby Simone on NYPD Blue. Stott, a four time Olivier Award nominee, is reprising his role of Michael, which he originated in the London premiere of the play.
