Phoenix Theatre Ensemble to Present Reading of Tennessee Williams’ A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur

Phoenix Theatre Ensemble will present a staged reading of Tennessee Williams’ A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur, at The Wild Project, November 17-22. Karen Case-Cook will direct.

The comedy is set in St. Louis in the mid-1930s, and concerns four breathless middle-aged women struggling for a sense of identity and independence. The reading will feature Laura Piquado as Dorothea, Elise Stone as Bodey, Angela Vitali as Helena, and Kathleen Ferman-Menino as Miss Gluck.

The reading is part of the company’s “Three by Tennessee” fall reading series, which also includes the already presented Suddenly Last Summer and the forthcoming In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel.
