Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio will be joining the cast of USA's Law & Order: Criminal Intent, according to a report in TV Guide. The actress will play the working-class captain of the show's Major Case Squad, replacing Eric Bogosian.

Mastrantonio has been seen frequently on Broadway, most recently in Man of La Mancha, opposite Brian Stokes Mitchell. Her other Broadway credits include the musicals The Human Comedy and Oh, Brother. Off-Broadway she appeared in Twelfth Night in Central Park, opposite Michelle Pfeiffer and Law & Order's Jeff Goldblum. Earlier this year, she appeared in Arthur Miller's A View From the Bridge in London.

The actress may be best known for her roles in films such as Scarface, The Color of Money and The Abyss. More recently, she played a fishing boat captain in The Perfect Storm and recurred on CBS' Without a Trace.
