Gerard Alessandrini Set for Forbidden Broadway: Behind the Mylar Curtain Events

Forbidden Broadway creator Gerard Alessandrini will participate in several upcoming events to celebrate the release of Forbidden Broadway: Behind the Mylar Curtain, from Applause Theatre & Cinema Books.

The book is described as a “whimsical inside glimpse” into the musical revue which for three decades, spoofed shows from Les Miserables to Wicked and stars from Ethel Merman to Hugh Jackman.

On November 23, Alessandrini will perform alongside Nora Mae Lyng, pianist David Caldwell, and others as part of Jim Caruso’s Cast Party at Birdland, at 9:30pm. He will be featured in an evening at Merkin Concert Hall, on December 7 at 8pm, hosted by Sean Hartley and featuring Forbidden Broadway veterans James Donegan, Donna English, Gina Kreiezmar, Nora Mae Lyng, Jeanne Montano, and Bill Selby. He will also make an appearance at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle on January 12 at 7:30pm, performing songs from the show with special guests. At each event, books will be available for purchase and signing.
