Daniel Sullivan and Michael Greif to Direct Public’s Merchant of Venice, Winter’s Tale in Central Park

Daniel Sullivan will direct The Merchant of Venice and Michael Greif will direct The Winter’s Tale for the Public Theater’s 2010 season of Shakespeare in the Park. The productions will be presented in repertory, June 9-August 1, using the same company of actors. Casting and design teams will be announced at a later date.

Sullivan directed the 2009 Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night. Among his other credits are the Broadway productions of Top Girls, Rabbit Hole, Morning’s at Seven, Proof, and The Sisters Rosensweig.

Greif staged Romeo and Juliet at the Delacorte in 2007 and directed Shakespeare’s Pericles at the Public. On Broadway, he has directed musicals such as Next to Normal, Grey Gardens, and Rent.
