Cirque du Soleil will return to New York with its latest big top touring production Ovo, beginning performances April 9 under its trademark blue-and-yellow Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) at Randall’s Island Park for a limited engagement. Deborah Colker has directed and choreographed the production that features 53 performing artists from 13 countries.

The name Ovo means “egg” in Portuguese, and the production is described by the company as being “a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.” The action of Ovo is set in motion when a mysterious egg appears in the insects’ midst.
