Director Anne Bogart, writer/performer Will Power and Pultizer Prize-winning playwright Doug Wright will join Rebecca Gilman for a panel discussion following the matinee of Gilman’s adaptation of Carson McCullers’ The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter on November 21 at New York Theatre Workshop.

Debra Cardona, dramaturg for The Classical Theatre of Harlem, will moderate the discussion, which will concentrate on how Gilman has brought McCullers’ novel to the stage.

The play tells the story of John Singer, a deaf man, as he navigates the world without his dearest friend who has recently been committed to an insane asylum. The production is directed by Doug Hughes, and features Bob Braswell, Jimonn Cole, Michael Cullen, James McDaniel, Cristin Milioti, Randall Newsome, Roslyn Ruff, I. N. Sierros, Henry Stram, and Andrew Weems.
