Rogelio Douglas, Jr. Will Be Little Mermaid‘s New Sebastian

Rogelio Douglas, Jr. will take over the role of Sebastian in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, currently performing at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, on Tuesday, December 9. He will replace Tituss Burgess in the role.

The musical is based on the Academy Award-winning film and the classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. It is directed by Francesca Zambello and choreographed by Stephen Mear, and features songs by Alan Menken and his late partner Howard Ashman from the film, as well as new songs by Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater. The book for the musical is by Doug Wright.

The cast currently feature Sierra Boggess (Ariel), Norm Lewis (King Triton), Sean Palmer (Prince Eric), Eddie Korbich (Scuttle), Jonathan Freeman (Grimsby), Tyler Maynard (Flotsam), Eric LaJuan Summers (Jetsam), Robert Creighton (Chef Louis), and Sherie Rene Scott (Ursula). As previously announced, Heidi Blickenstaff will take over the role of Ursula on January 27.
