Williamstown Theatre Festival to Honor Kate Burton

The 2007 Williamstown Theatre Festival will pay tribute to Kate Burton at its annual gala, to take place at 6:30 pm on Monday , December 3 at the Puck Building in New York. The evening will include cocktails, dinner, entertainment, and a live and silent auction.

Among the celebrities scheduled to appear at the event are Brooks Ashmanskas, Becky Ann Baker, Dylan Baker, Mark Blum, Dashiell Eaves, Christopher Fitzgerald, Jane Kaczmarek, Nathan Lane, Andrea Martin, Debra Monk, Lynn Redgrave, Jessica Stone, and Carol Woods. Also on hand will be the WTF’s newly named artistic director, Nicholas Martin, who has directed Burton in many productions including The Cherry Orchard and Hedda Gabler.

Burton starred earlier this year in the WTF’s The Corn Is Green, which was her 22nd production at the Festival. She is a three-time Tony Award nominee and a two-time Emmy Award nominee. She will co-star next month in the L.A. Theatre Works’ production of Major Barbara.
