Ghostlight Records will record the Blank Theatre Company’s production of Michael John LaChiusa’s musical Little Fish on Monday, November 12, with plans to release the CD in the spring of 2008. The production, which runs through November 18, is directed by Kirsten Sanderson, with choreography by Jane Lanier.

Little Fish, which is suggested by the short stories of Deborah Eisenberg, focuses on Charlotte, a young writer of short stories, who confronts her past, present and future in post 9/11 Manhattan. She quits smoking and embarks on a modern day odyssey as she attempts to fill her nicotine-starved days with swimming. The show had its New York premiere at the Second Stage Theatre.

The show’s cast features Broadway stars Gregory Jbara, Chad Kimball, Alice Ripley, Brooke Tansley, and Robert Torti, along with Dina Morishita, German Santiago, and Samantha Shelton. The musical director is David O, with music supervision by Brad Ellis and orchestrations by Tony Award winner Bruce Coughlin.

LaChiusa’s other musicals include Hello Again, First Lady Suite, Marie Christine, and The Wild Party.
