Billings, Ruckdashel to Star in L.A. Production of Twist

Alexandra Billings and Brandon Ruckdashel will star in the Drama Desk-nominated musical Twist, by Gila Sand and Paul Leschen, which will play the Avery Schreiber Theater in North Hollywood, December 1-30.

A pop-rock musical based on Oliver Twist, the show weaves Victorian erotica, dark comedy and gender-bending into Charles Dickens’s famous tale as it re-imagines Oliver as an attractive young man, still searching for love, but driven by physical desire. Whether submitting to punishment at the Workhouse, or succumbing to the charms of a flirtatious Artful Dodger, Twist is always begging for more.

Billings, who will play Fagin, is a transgendered actress and cabaret singer. She has starred on stage in Gypsy and A Dublin Bloom and appeared on TV’s Grey’s Anatomy. Ruckdashel, who will play Oliver, starred Off-Broadway in Ascension.
