Mia Barron, John Ellison Conlee, Lizzie Cooper Davis, Jessica Hecht, Maggie Lacey, Frances McDormand, and Jeanine Serralles will star in the 52nd Street Project’s Don’t Tread on Me, The Revolutionary Plays, to run December 7-9 at the American Theatre of Actors. This group of short plays has been written by nine playwrights, ages 9-12, from Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood.

The event is part of the Playmaking Stage One program, which teaches children how to develop characters, invent situations and, eventually, to write short plays. After a nine-week course, each child is assigned a pair of professional actors and their own dramaturge. The children interview the actors before going on a weekend writing retreat to Stone Ridge, NY. Upon returning to the city, adult directors rehearse the plays with adult professional actors for free presentation before a general audience.

Admission is free, but reservations are required. Call 212-642-5052.
