Acting Company Honors Lansbury and Schoenfeld; Peters to Perform

Tony Award winning actress Bernadette Peters will perform at a benefit evening honoring Gerald Schoenfeld, Chairman of the Shubert Organization, and legendary producer Edgar Lansbury. The Acting Company will present the evening at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday, November 12.


Schoenfeld will receive the Joan Warbug Humanitarian Award, while Lansbury will be presented with the John Houseman Award. Proceeds of the evening benefit The Acting Company’s Literacy Through Theater education programs for students in disadvantaged schools.

Schoenfeld is being honored for his humanitarian work for the nonprofit arts. Among his many Broadway credits are this season’s The Farnsworth Invention, The Seafarer and August: Osage County as well as last season’s Tony Award winning revival of Company.

Lansbury has been associated with The Acting Company since its inception. His productions include the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Subject Was Roses, Godspell, and The Magic Show.

Peters has been seen in over a dozen Broadway productions. Her most memorable roles include Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Gypsy and her Tony Award-winning performance in Annie Get Your Gun.
