Grey Gardens leading lady Christine Ebersole will make a special appearance at the 29th Annual Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday, December 3; as a result, her standby, Maureen Moore, will make her debut as Big Edith and Little Edie Beale in the matinee performance of the hit musical.

Moore has previously been a standby for Bernadette Peters in Gypsy, going on many times during the star’s lengthy illness, and in Song & Dance. Her numerous other Broadway credits include Sunset Boulevard, Cabaret, Amadeus, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, and Falsettos. She also played Charlotte in the New York City Opera production of A Little Night Music.
