The Irish Repertory Theatre will present the beloved musical Meet Me in St. Louis, December 6-January 28. The show, which will open officially on December 14, will be directed by Charlotte Moore and choreographed by Barry McNabb.

Like the famed 1944 MGM film of the same title, Meet Me in St. Louis is
adapted from Sally Benson’s short vignettes entitled “5135 Kensington.” The musical tells the story of the Smith family as they eagerly anticipate the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exhibition in St. Louis; optimism and young love are tested when the Smith patriarch plans to move the family to New York City. The show has a book by Hugh Wheeler and features such well known Hugh Martin-Ralph Blane songs as “The Boy Next Door, “The Trolley Song,” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.”

The cast of the Irish Rep production includes Becky Barta, Colin Donnell, Bonnie Fraser, John Hickok, George S. Irving, Sarah Pfisterer, Danielle Piacentile, and Gabrielle Piacentile, along with Doug Boes, Merideth Kaye Clark, Kerry Conte, and Ashley Robinson. The creative team includes Tony Straiges (sets), Tracy Christensen (costumes), Brian Nason (lighting), and John Bell (music direction).
