Grey Gardens Discussion Set for December 5 at Borders Columbus Circle

The creators of the musical Grey Gardens — director Michael Greif, composer Scott Frankel, and lyricist Michael Korie — will join filmmaker Albert Maysles, director of the original documentary Grey Gardens, for a special discussion at Borders Columbus Circle in the Time Warner Center on Tuesday, December 5, beginning at 6pm.

The foursome will discuss both the film and the musical. Maysles will sign DVD copies of Grey Gardens and its “sequel” The Beales of Grey Gardens, while the musical’s creative team will sign posters of the show and copies of the Off-Broadway cast recording.

Seen earlier this year at Playwrights Horizons before moving to Broadway’s Walter Kerr Theatre in October, Grey Gardens tells the story of Big Edith and Little Edie Beale, a pair of reclusive women who ended up living in a dilapidated Long Island mansion. The show stars Christine Ebersole, Mary Louise Wilson, Erin Davie, Matt Cavenaugh, and John McMartin.
