Full casting has been announced for the upcoming Paper Mill Playhouse production of Tennessee Williams’ Summer and Smoke, to be directed by Michael Wilson. The show, which will run January 10-February 11, is a co-production with Hartford Stage, which presented it earlier this fall.

As previously announced, Amanda Plummer and Kevin Anderson will star as Alma Winemiller and John Buchanan, Jr. They will be joined by Terry Beaver (Reverend Winemiller), Jennifer Harmon (Mrs. Winemiller), Mateo Gomez (Papa Gonzales), Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa Gonzales), Bill Kux (Roger), Nafe Katter (Dr. Buchanan), Curtis Billings (Archie and Dusty), Marta Reiman (Nellie), Joanna Morrison (Mrs. Bassett), John Ort (Vernon), and Elizabeth Capinera (Rosemary and Pearl).

The creative team includes Peter Pucci (choreography), Tony Straiges (sets), David C. Woolard (costumes), Rui Rita (lighting), and John Gromada (sound design and original music).

First seen on Broadway in 1948, Summer and Smoke concerns a Southern spinster and her failed romance with a local doctor. The piece was filmed in 1961, with Geraldine Page and Laurence Harvey in the leads. A 1996 Roundabout Theatre Company revival starred Mary McDonnell and Harry Hamlin.
