Cheyenne Jackson has joined the previously announced Victoria Clark and Nicky Silver in the cast of the Vineyard Theater’s upcoming production of Silver’s The Agony and the Agony. Part of the Vineyard’s members-only LAB series, the show will run December 8-22. It will be directed by Terry Kinney.

The Agony and the Agony concerns a once-celebrated, now desperate playwright (Silver) and his wife (Clark), an ambitious actress. Jackson will play an aspiring young actor who creates further complications for the couple. Among the previous Silver plays that have been produced by the Vineyard are Pterodactyls, Raised in Captivity, The Eros Trilogy, and Beautiful Child (which was directed by Kinney).

Jackson starred on Broadway in All Shook Up and is also known for his portrayal of real-life hero Mark Bingham in the film United 93. Clark won the 2005 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in The Light in the Piazza; her other Broadway credits include Urinetown, Cabaret, Titanic, and Guys and Dolls. In February 2007, she is set to play Sally Durant in the City Center Encores! presentation of Follies.
