Elizabeth Berkley, Judy Blazer, Michael Esper, Trey Lyford, Andrea Martin, Kelli O’Hara, and Mary Testa will participate in Playwrights Horizon’s annual benefit, Songs on 5 Stories, to be held at 7:30pm on Monday, November 13 at the theater (416 West 42nd Street). Proceeds will benefit the company’s 2006-2007 season musical theater activities.

For the benefit, Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, Scott Frankel, Michael Friedman, Ricky Ian Gordon, Rinne Groff, Adam Guettel, Michael Korie, and Michael John LaChiusa will compose six songs specifically for the evening, inspired by and performed in locations around the theater company’s five-story headquarters, including the costume shop and the trap room under the Mainstage. All the numbers will be performed concurrently, and each will be repeated several times in its own location. Attendees will travel throughout the building in small groups in order to see each work.

The evening will begin with an optional dinner at 6pm at Chez Josephine, to be attended by Playwrights Horizons staff and Board members, as well as some of the evening’s participants. All attendees will be invited to a post-show reception with the artists.
Tickets are $150 and $325 (including dinner) and can be reserved by calling 212-564-1235, extension 3154 or by visiting www.playwrightshorizons.org.
